NCFR FLE Content Area Alignment
The HDFS program at Winthrop University was the first academic program in South Carolina to achieve Certified Family Life Educator (CFLE)-approved status from the National Council on Family Relations (NCFR). This status means program coursework is aligned with NCFR’s 10 Family Life Education Content Areas so HDFS graduates are eligible for the provisional-level CFLE credential without having to take the exam. This course aligns with Content Area 6: Family Resource Management. The program checklist details how Winthrop’s HDFS courses align with the Content Areas.
