The Instructional Technology Center (ITC) provides an instructional laboratory environment with access to and support for using the latest equipment and software to enhance teaching and learning. Assistive technology is avaialble for physical and learning disabilities, and a variety of services are offered including equipment loans, technology and office supplies, printing/faxing, 3D printing, laser cutting, lamination, scanning, video editing, and much more. The Academic Success Center (ASC) provides comprehensive free resources for all undergraduat,e students seeking to perform their best academically. The ASC offers a variety of personalized and structured resources, including peer tutoring, academic coaching, skill development, and study halls. In addition to the ASC, other campus services (e.g., Writing Center, Language Learning Center, Dacus Library) offer multple forms of academic support. The Office of Accessibility (OA) provides accommodations and support services to students with documented disabilities and support the ongoing development of an accessible university that embraces diversity through educational programming, resources, and facilities that are usable by all members of the campus community. The Center for Student Wellness supports the health and wellbeing of Winthrop students through services that aim to foster whole-person health through prevention, education, assessment, treatment, and advocacy.
Health Services provides confidential, professional, quality, cost-effective, acute, and routine medical care.
Counseling Services provide quality mental health services to enhance the overall mental health of students along cognitive, emotional, personal, and interpersonal dimensions.
Student Advocacy and Trauma Support provides quality services and advocacy to victims and survivors of sexual assault, stalking, and domestic/dating violence through a concentrated community response.
Health Promotion provides a collaborative, evidence-based approach to individual and community wellness through promotion, educational programming, and service that supports the physical, emotional, social, intellectual, occupational, and spiritual wellbeing of students by enabling them to make informed choices that are conducive to healthy lifestyles.
The Dean of Students Office supports students experiencing crisis or other difficult challenges, works closely with students to help them self-advocate, helps students navigate complex choices, serves as a liaison with faculty and staff to help students succeed, guides students to helpful resources, holds students accountable to the Code of Conduct, and more. This office also serves as a central point of contact for students who need to notify their instructors of an extended absence. The Center for Career Development and Internships (CDI) provides resources and programs for students and alumni to develop the necessary skills to conduct effective career searches and make informed career decisions. Services they offer include career coaching, professional development workshops, resume reviews, mock interviews and access to the platform Big Interview, internship and job search assistance, career clothing closet, and employment fairs. The CDI also supports access to the online career management platform, Handshake, which enables students and alumni to search for jobs, internships, and volunteer opportunities as well as employer information sessions and career fairs. The CDI also works closely with employers throughout South Carolina and the Charlotte metro area and beyond to support recruitment of Winthrop students.
